Role

We are looking for a Content Operations Specialist to join our commissioning team in our London office.

Working at WGSN

Together, we create tomorrow

A career with WGSN is fast-paced, exciting and full of opportunities to grow and develop. We’re a team of consumer and design trend forecasters, content creators, designers, data analysts, advisory consultants and much more, united by a common goal: to create tomorrow.

WGSN’s trusted consumer and design forecasts power outstanding product design, enabling our customers to create a better future. Our services cover consumer insights, beauty, consumer tech, fashion, interiors, lifestyle, food and drink forecasting, data analytics and expert advisory. If you are an expert in your field, we want to hear from you.

Role overview

The ideal candidate will have experience working at a fast-paced digital service company and an understanding of how to manage a workflow system for a large content creation team. You will be exceptional at tracking data and regularly providing reviews to Senior Commissioning Managers, Directors and wider teams when necessary.

Your time will be split across two key areas, though not limited to them:

  • Content plan support: Supporting the Senior Commissioning Managers and Directors who manage the content plan, helping to keep content delivery consistent and on schedule.

  • Innovation and change management: Identifying opportunities to improve how we work, and helping to create and embed new processes and ways of working across the business.

Working within the Commissioning Management team, you will liaise with all product verticals across WGSN, including Fashion, Beauty, Insight, Food and Drink, Sports and Outdoors, Interiors, Consumer Tech, and Insight and be responsible for maintaining processes between content creation, image management and marketing.

You will be proficient in workflows, skilled at producing analysis and presenting it to key stakeholders, and keen to learn and master our bespoke publishing systems. You will wear many hats while working in this dynamic and exciting role.

The team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the diverse Commissioning Management team, which sits across all products at WGSN globally. The role involves working with teams across different regions and time zones, such as EMEA, LATAM, APAC and NAM. Working alongside other essential business functions such as content, editorial, marketing, design and data, we facilitate the creation of content across multiple industries and support the publishing workflow. You will work with some of the most creative experts in the industry, and every day will be different and exciting. You will be based in London and be part of the Commissioning team, made up of four other specialists who will support your development and help you grow in the role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working alongside the Senior Commissioning Managers and Directors to strategically plan and manage a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring consistent and timely content delivery across all verticals, using the current Commissioning Management system

  • Monitoring output using in-house workflow systems, such as Jira and Smartsheet, and moving work between editors and analysts as required

  • Ensuring all staff have work delegated and logged in our content management system, and analysing team capacity

  • Aligning workflows across various parts of the business, including Media (Picture/Video), Design Studio, Marketing, Content, Editorial and Sales

  • Identifying opportunities to improve how we work and helping to design, pilot and embed new processes and workflow improvements across the business

  • Implementing and monitoring processes, ensuring absolute efficiency, and that teams clearly understand how the processes work

  • Learning and mastering our bespoke publishing systems, and supporting colleagues in using them

  • Contributing to overall objectives and being accountable for, and communicating specific content goals and KPIs

  • Collating data using key metrics to measure performance and efficiency across departments and individuals and presenting findings on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to the Senior Commissioning Managers and Directors

  • Managing budget logistics, including PO raising and invoicing on demand, maintaining our freelance portfolio and ensuring all contracts are up to date for the relevant regions across all products

  • Working on projects and creating documentation when required to showcase various business topics, using programmes such as Google Slides to build clear, concise presentations for the content team’s use

  • Onboarding new staff to our systems and workflows as required

This list is not exhaustive, and there may be other activities you are required to deliver.

Skills & experience

  • Ability to plan and manage a content calendar effectively

  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to identify gaps early on

  • Proficiency in workflow management, with experience using tools such as Jira and Smartsheet (or similar)

  • A willingness to learn and master bespoke publishing systems quickly

  • You will be knowledgeable in data analysis, able to produce clear reports and present your findings and recommendations to key stakeholders

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

  • Experience of, and a keen interest in, change management and process improvement, with the confidence to suggest, test and embed new ways of working

  • Confident in building relationships and communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including Leadership, Directors and Senior Managers

  • Experience working with global teams across different regions and time zones

  • Experience of budget administration, such as raising POs, invoicing and managing freelance contracts (or a willingness to learn)

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slides and Sheets, for presentations and reporting

  • Ability to onboard and support colleagues in using systems and workflows

  • A practical understanding of how to use AI to enhance workflows, without over-relying on it or sacrificing human judgment

  • A keen interest in WGSN products, to think cross-divisionally and provide input on expanding data within our content offering
