Director - Engagement and Advocacy

An outstanding specialist infrastructure consultancy is seeking a Director of Engagement & Advocacy to join its senior leadership team as a growth hire. The role is London based.

The firm works exclusively on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects - complex, high-profile schemes that shape regions, communities and national infrastructure - and you would need this experience in your background.

This role is focused squarely on engagement and advocacy around the project delivery and is not a consents lead position. It is about creating the political, stakeholder and community environment that enables nationally significant projects to be delivered with legitimacy and credibility.

The Role:

Alongside an existing Director, you will:

• Lead communications, stakeholder engagement and advocacy strategies on NSIPs across sectors such as transport, energy and utilities
• Shape political and community narratives around nationally significant schemes
• Advise clients on managing scrutiny, opposition and reputational risk
• Oversee consultation strategy and high-level stakeholder mapping
• Provide senior counsel during sensitive or high-visibility phases
• Contribute to team leadership, mentoring and commercial growth

We'd welcome a conversation with people who:

• Have significant experience working on NSIPs and understand the DCO environment
• Have led NSIPs engagement or public affairs programmes in politically complex contexts
• Are comfortable operating at board and executive level
• Combine strategic depth with calm judgement

You might currently be:

• A Director or Associate Director in a specialist infrastructure consultancy
• A senior engagement lead within a transport, energy or utilities organisation
• A public affairs leader with substantial NSIP experience
