Senior Counsel (Retail Investments Lead) - Fintech

Our Client

A growing fintech firm, currently outperforming their peers, is seeking a 5PQE+ Regulatory and/or product lawyer.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a central role in shaping, advising and supporting the firm’s retail investment offering. You will work closely with product, compliance, operations, and senior leadership to ensure regulatory alignment while enabling innovative product development.

This is a highly visible role offering genuine ownership, strategic influence, and the opportunity to support a fast scaling business at the forefront of digital investing.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory matters relating to retail investment products, including ISAs, GIAs, SIPPs, funds, and model portfolios.
• Support product development teams on new product launches, enhancements, and customer journeys.
• Draft, negotiate and review a wide range of commercial, technology, and third‑party supplier contracts.
• Provide guidance on UK financial services regulation (including FCA rules, COBS, PROD, Consumer Duty/Consumer Credit, and platform specific requirements).
• Lead or support legal aspects of strategic initiatives, partnerships, and platform developments.

About You

• Qualified solicitor (UK or equivalent) with 5+ PQE (flexible).
• Experience working for a financial services/fintech business advising on retail investments , wealth management, asset management, or digital investment platforms.
• Expertise in UK financial services regulation, particularly FCA rules impacting retail investment products.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving fintech environment with a solutions‑focused mindset.
• Commercially astute, collaborative, and confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to balance risk with innovation, helping the business move at pace while maintaining regulatory robustness.
