Automation Engineer – Trading Systems

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a DevOps and Trade Support Engineer to join our high profile algo-trading client.

Our client is a well-known global proprietary trading and market making firm who leverage superior technology to generate above market returns. They like technology especially the opensource variety as well as scalability and robust performance (much like their track record). They currently run around £3 billion in liquid capital.

This is an environment of Google or a startup where tech is number one (£17 million budget last year.). The firm is known globally for its attitudes and rigour more importantly, you will be surrounded by smart people deeply interested in teaching what they know, and in learning from you.

I am looking for Onboarding and Trade Support Engineer who has up to 5 years’ experience in a commercial environment whether it be a bank, software house or trading firm.

As an Automation Engineer you will:

• 50:50 rotation between trade support and project work
• Project work includes onboarding new brokers and new markets as well as improving trading infrastructure.
• Monitor trading systems and making sure the platform is running smoothly
• Working with the trading desk and other tech teams to react quickly to issues that arise during the trading day.

You MUST have:

• Good education
• Strong Linux/Unix experience.
• 3+ years’ experience supporting trading applications and or onboarding experience.
• Good troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Scripting in Python, Ruby or another language

This role suits an energetic and ambitious candidate who likes to take ownership of a role, this is not like a role in the banking sector. You must be hands on and have excellent experience of working in a demanding, jack of all trades type environment. You will also be a techie motivated by technology. In return you will be rewarded seriously financially we have no limit on basic salary.
