Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: Your Role
As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant you will:
- Support the class teacher in delivering exciting and creative lessons across KS1 and KS2
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, giving children the extra encouragement they need to thrive
- Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and creative resources
- Nurture children’s confidence, social skills, and love for learning
- Get involved in playtime supervision, story time, and school events, becoming a trusted and friendly face in the classroom
- Track progress and offer gentle guidance to help every child succeed
Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
We are looking for a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant who matches the following criteria:
- A recent graduate with a 2:1 or higher in Education, Psychology, English, or a related subject
- Passionate about working with children and making a positive difference in their lives
- Full of energy, positivity, and creativity
- A strong communicator who can build great relationships with pupils and staff
- Patient, caring, and resilient, with a genuine interest in education and child development
- Considering a future career in teaching or educational psychology
- Experience working with students, peer mentor, tutoring, mentoring or summer camps
