Junior Back-End Developer

We’re on the lookout for a Junior Back-End Developer to join our team here at RY.

The Role

As a Junior Back-End Developer, you’ll support the delivery of digital projects, helping to bring our ideas and designs to life through robust and scalable back-end solutions. You’ll work closely with senior developers, designers, and project teams to develop and maintain websites and digital products – primarily using Umbraco and the .NET Core stack.

Alongside new builds, sites, and campaigns, you’ll also support business-as-usual updates and maintenance across existing client projects.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of back-end development across projects.
• Assisting with scoping, estimation, and technical planning under guidance from senior team members.
• Developing and maintaining websites and applications using Umbraco and .NET technologies.
• Troubleshooting issues and supporting ongoing maintenance of client sites.
• Writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable code.
• Learning and applying development best practices.
• Collaborating with Content, UX, QA and Front-End teams to translate requirements into functional solutions.
• Providing clear updates to internal teams and stakeholders when required.

Requirements

• Commercial experience in back-end development.
• Working knowledge of the .NET Core C#.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms (experience with Umbraco a bonus!).
• Exposure to cloud platforms or tooling such as Azure, Azure DevOps, GCP, or Docker
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills and work collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely.
