Junior Back-End Developer
We’re on the lookout for a Junior Back-End Developer to join our team here at RY.
Our tech team is a growing group of multi-skilled professionals passionate about all things technology – from systems design and implementation to open-source communities and interactive web applications. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their development career who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to exciting digital projects.
The Role
As a Junior Back-End Developer, you’ll support the delivery of digital projects, helping to bring our ideas and designs to life through robust and scalable back-end solutions. You’ll work closely with senior developers, designers, and project teams to develop and maintain websites and digital products – primarily using Umbraco and the .NET Core stack.
Alongside new builds, sites, and campaigns, you’ll also support business-as-usual updates and maintenance across existing client projects.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of back-end development across projects.
- Assisting with scoping, estimation, and technical planning under guidance from senior team members.
- Developing and maintaining websites and applications using Umbraco and .NET technologies.
- Troubleshooting issues and supporting ongoing maintenance of client sites.
- Writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable code.
- Learning and applying development best practices.
- Collaborating with Content, UX, QA and Front-End teams to translate requirements into functional solutions.
- Providing clear updates to internal teams and stakeholders when required.
Requirements
- Commercial experience in back-end development.
- Working knowledge of the .NET Core C#.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (experience with Umbraco a bonus!).
- Exposure to cloud platforms or tooling such as Azure, Azure DevOps, GCP, or Docker
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills and work collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely.
