History Teacher | Barnet | Independent Co-educational School
This distinguished Independent Co-educational School in Barnet is seeking to appoint an exceptional and dedicated History Teacher to join its thriving, collaborative Humanities faculty. This is a pivotal, permanent, full-time role commencing in January 2026. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging and rigorous History lessons, with a substantial focus on A-Level and Oxbridge preparation.
- Cultivate high-level historical debate, sophisticated source analyse, and compelling extended essay writing skills across all classes.
- Track student progress meticulously, ensuring every pupil is intellectually challenged and expertly supported to reach their potential.
- Drive the academic life of the faculty, potentially spearheading a historical society or academic enrichment programme.
- Uphold the distinguished standards of preparation, teaching, and discipline expected within a leading independent school environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in History.
- Proven success teaching History to A-Level, demonstrating mastery across diverse historical periods.
- A profound commitment to intellectual rigour and inspiring genuine scholarship in young people.
- Exceptional communication and classroom leadership skills, vital for engaging diverse, mixed-gender student groups.
