The Role of a Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant in a Camden primary school, you will:

• Support learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 , ensuring all pupils engage with lessons and achieve their potential.

• Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who may have SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs.

• Assist teachers with planning and delivering creative, differentiated learning activities .

• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued.

• Support with behaviour management, transitions, and pastoral care , helping children thrive socially as well as academically.
