About the Role

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Land & Planning team as a Graduate Land & Investment Surveyor based in London.

This role provides exposure across the full development lifecycle, supporting both our Land and Investment teams in identifying, assessing, acquiring and disposing of residential development opportunities. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain valuable insight into the acquisition of strategic, greenfield and brownfield sites, as well as the funding and sale of institutional residential assets.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded graduate looking to build a career within the UK living sector. You will gain hands-on experience across Build-to-Rent, Single Family Housing and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation, while developing a strong understanding of development viability, investment transactions and land acquisition strategies.

Working Pattern

Hours – 42.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm with one hour for lunch

Office based – London

Key Responsibilities

Land & Investment Support

• Support the Land and Investment teams in reviewing and assessing new development opportunities

• Assist with the financial appraisal and underwriting of land acquisitions and investment opportunities

• Contribute to the preparation of investment committee reports and supporting documentation

• Assist in the production of marketing materials for investment sales across PBSA, Build-to-Rent and Single Family Housing assets

• Undertake market research and analysis to support strategic decision-making

Transactions & Due Diligence

• Support the management of land acquisitions and investment transactions from inception through to completion

• Undertake pre-sale due diligence alongside Planning, Technical, Land and Investment colleagues

• Assist with the drafting and negotiation of heads of terms for acquisitions and disposals

• Liaise with legal teams, consultants, agents and other stakeholders throughout transactions

• Respond to enquiries and support investor and stakeholder engagement activities

Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, land agents, investment agents and prospective investors

• Accompany senior colleagues and investors on site visits and inspections

• Build an understanding of market trends, investment activity and development opportunities across the UK living sector

• Support the wider team in identifying new business opportunities and maintaining market intelligence

About You

We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware individual with a genuine passion for property, development and investment.

You will be eager to learn, confident working with data and financial information, and capable of building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to balance analytical thinking with commercial awareness.

This role would suit a graduate who is keen to gain broad exposure within the residential development and investment market while building a long-term career within a growing and ambitious business.

Essential

• Degree qualified in a property-related discipline or equivalent

• Strong interest in land, development, investment or real estate

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment

• Commercially aware with strong attention to detail

• Highly organised, reliable and proactive approach to work

• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Desirable

• Up to two years' experience within land, development, investment or property-related environments

• Understanding of development appraisals and investment modelling

• Knowledge of the UK residential property market

• Exposure to Build-to-Rent, PBSA or Single Family Housing sectors

• Experience working with financial models or development viability assessments
