Role Description

Seeking a Rapid Application Developer to join the front office technology team in London. This is a fast-paced, collaborative and varied role working closely with Commodities Portfolio Managers as well as Quants and analysts. They take pride in using technology to automate and streamline processes wherever possible.

As a multi-strat fund, they trade nearly every asset class. This role's primary focus is with the Commodities business. The objective will be to focus on building out rapid applications suite to support investors across the research, idea generation, and portfolio construction process.

What You'll Work With

With a diverse technology stack, including Python, React, SQL Server, Snowflake, Java and Kafka, they frequently develop new tools as the business grows. They look for candidates who have the confidence to suggest new technologies / methodologies where appropriate.

What Kind Of Things You Could Be Working On

• Working directly with analysts, portfolio managers and management in building tools and applications to support their workflows
• Building applications to facilitate research and idea generation for portfolio managers
• Developing and refining APIs and data pipelines, focusing on speed, robustness, and maintainability
• Improve and support the existing systems

Essential Skills

• > 5 years' Python experience, of which 2+ years working as a RAD in a commercial environment
• Solid knowledge of SQL and database
• Experience with web scraping
• Good knowledge with Excel
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic knowledge of at least one asset class but not necessary
• Knowledge of web development useful but not necessary
• Bachelor's (or equivalent) Degree in Computer Science or similar

Location

This role will be onsite, in the London office - a modern, vibrant location, with a well-stocked kitchen and a much-enjoyed social area on the 10th (top) floor of the building including a private bar, foosball, video games, music, etc. They also make great use of this space, which includes a large private roof terrace overlooking Green Park, for social events and wellbeing initiatives including yoga and personal training classes.
