Known for delivering complex, fast-paced schemes, this contractor is expanding its team due to continued growth across the industrial sector-including warehouses, logistics hubs, and data centres.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for managing the design process on industrial projects from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with the pre-con, planning, and delivery teams, you'll ensure the seamless coordination of design information across all project stages.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process from tender through to handover
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve design issues
• Lead design meetings and workshops
• Review and comment on drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
• Monitor design progress against programme and report to senior stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and design standards
• Identify and manage design-related risks and opportunities
• Support value engineering and innovation throughout the design phase

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Manager working for a main contractor
• Experience delivering industrial schemes (e.g. warehouses, data centres)
• Confident managing the full design process on site and at pre-con stage
• Strong coordination, communication, and technical review skills
• Flexible to work between office, site, and home as needed
• Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, or construction management
