The successful School Administrator will join a professional office environment and will have an important role in supporting students, families and staff.

School Administrator Role

The school is seeking a reliable and highly organised School Administrator to join its administrative team.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day office support, deal with enquiries, maintain records and assist with a range of school administration.

You will regularly communicate with parents, students, staff and visitors, so a professional and approachable manner is essential.

The role will involve handling confidential information and maintaining accurate records. You will need to be confident prioritising tasks and working to deadlines in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administrative support across the school.

  • Manage telephone calls and general enquiries.

  • Respond to emails and correspondence promptly.

  • Welcome parents, visitors and external professionals.

  • Follow reception and visitor procedures.

  • Maintain accurate pupil records.

  • Update school databases and information systems.

  • Prepare letters, forms and administrative documents.

  • Support senior leaders with administrative tasks.

  • Assist with meetings and appointments.

  • Support admissions and new pupil administration.

  • Assist with attendance administration.

  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.

  • Process school correspondence.

  • Support communication with parents and carers.

  • Assist with school events and administrative arrangements.

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Support the organisation of office resources and stationery.

  • Assist with photocopying, scanning and document preparation.

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.

  • Ensure administrative deadlines are met.

  • Follow safeguarding and data-protection procedures.

  • Support the wider office team during busy periods.

  • Maintain a professional and welcoming reception environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous administrative experience and ideally have worked within a school, college or other education setting.

You should be organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload.

Excellent communication skills are essential because you will be dealing with a wide range of people throughout the school day.

You must be comfortable using Microsoft Office and willing to learn school-specific systems.

Confidentiality and attention to detail are particularly important.
