Teaching Assistant - London

We are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for an inclusive primary or secondary school in an inner London borough from January 2026 .
About the School
The school has a strong commitment to inclusion and works closely with families and external agencies to support pupils with SEND. Staff receive training in a range of strategies, and there is a dedicated SENCO and support team in place.
The Role
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Islington, London
- Start Date: January 2026
- Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
You will:
- Work closely with specific pupils with SEND (e.g. autism, speech and language needs, learning difficulties).
- Support access to learning in class and in small group interventions.
- Help implement strategies and support plans designed by the SENCO and class teachers.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.
- Liaise with staff and, where appropriate, parents/carers.

- Experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable.
- Calm, patient and resilient, with a caring approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to undertake training in relevant strategies.
