Join Our Team as a Parcel Room Operative
Are you organised, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service? We’re seeking a dedicated Parcel Room Operative to join our team in a thriving residential development. In this role, you’ll oversee the smooth receipt, storage, and distribution of parcels, ensuring secure handling and a high level of service to our residents.
- Location: London (EC1V) - Please ensure you live no more than a 45 minute commute from the site.
- Annual Salary: £26,000
- Hours/Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 9am-9pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Parcel Management:
- Receive, log, and sort incoming parcels accurately for easy resident retrieval.
- Organise storage areas to maintain efficiency, accessibility, and security.
- Notify residents of parcel arrivals and assist with timely collection, verifying identification when needed.
- Handle oversized, fragile, or valuable items with appropriate care and attention.
- Coordinate with courier services to address any delivery concerns or delays.
Customer Service:
- Provide a welcoming, courteous, and professional service to residents collecting parcels.
- Assist with inquiries on package storage, location, and retrieval, and communicate parcel-related policies.
- Support residents in using parcel collection systems or lockers within the development.
Administrative & Building Support:
- Maintain precise records of parcel deliveries, collections, and any discrepancies.
- Report issues within the parcel storage area to management.
- Conduct regular checks to keep the parcel area organised, clean, and secure.
- Address parcel-related issues or complaints promptly and efficiently.
Health & Safety:
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with emergency procedures as required, prioritizing the safety of residents and packages alike.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in parcel handling or customer service within a residential or commercial setting.
- Familiarity with package tracking systems (preferred but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
Skills:
- Excellent time management and task prioritization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents and clients.
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Requirements:
- Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
