The Role

As our Domestic Gas Remedial Engineer , you will be responsible for maintaining property services by delivering planned and reactive maintenance in line with agreed programmes and quality standards, while meeting the company’s operational targets .

You will be expected to:

• Conduct inspections and remedial works on domestic gas appliances and systems within domestic gas properties.
• Rectify faults identified during gas servicing, landlord safety checks (LGSRs), and emergency callouts.
• Complete follow-up remedial work from gas safety inspections to ensure full compliance.
• Carry out gas pipework upgrades, repairs, capping, purging, and leak rectification as needed.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with tenants to explain work being carried out and ensure minimal disruption.
• Ensure all work meets the requirements of Gas Safe Register, industry regulations, and landlord compliance obligations.
• Accurately complete all required documentation and update job management systems in real time (e.g., PDA/tablet).
• Work collaboratively with the planners, supervisors, and other operatives to support tenant safety and satisfaction.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including safeguarding policies when working in occupied homes.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm , and flexibility with working hours is essential as overtime will be required from time to time.

The Candidate
To be considered for our Domestic Gas Remedial Engineer role, you will have the following skills and experience:

Qualifications

• ACS / Gas Safe qualified and the ability to demonstrate relevant experience
• CCN1, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT
• Energy Efficiency
• Unvented Hot Water
• HIU
• Heat Pumps (desired not essential)
• Gas fires
• Cylinders
• HRU

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years gas industry experience (desired)
• Proven experience as a gas engineer ideally within social housing or domestic settings
• Use and ability to train in the use of PDA devices

Skills/Knowledge

• The ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on domestic gas systems and appliances.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, part of a team and manage your own workload effectively.
• It is a requirement that a valid full clean driving licence is maintained
