Director of Service Charges
Are you a strategic leader passionate about delivering outstanding, customer-focused services in the housing sector? Southern Housing is seeking a Director of Service Charges to drive performance, compliance, and innovation across our service charge and managing agent operations.
As a key member of our Leadership Team, you’ll set the strategic direction for service charge transformation, Section 20 administration, and external managing agent performance, ensuring we remain sector-leading and financially sustainable. You’ll champion operational excellence, maximise income, and maintain high resident satisfaction, all whilst living our HEART values.
What you’ll need:
- Expertise in service charge budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, and audit processes
- Deep understanding of Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 & 1987, RICS Service Charge Residential Code, Leasehold and Freehold legislation and Health and Safety legislation as it pertains to properties.
- Proven leadership experience, managing cross-functional teams and driving performance to ensure the efficient collection and accurate reporting of service charges.
- Excellent financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure service charge recovery and adherence to financial targets.
- Ability to set strategic direction and lead teams to deliver this, with effective performance management, delegation, coaching, and risk management.
- Degree level or equivalent through relevant training/ experience
- Housing professional qualification CIH, IRPM or ARMA accreditation
