About the Role:

Paragon Home Healthcare is hiring a live-in care assistant for a friendly and active Irish man with a spinal cord injury . Despite his injury, which he's had for many years, he remains highly independent, spontaneous, and busy . He leads an active lifestyle and is looking for a care assistant who can support him in his daily activities while respecting his independence. He requires a live-in carer to help assist him with moving and handling , his daily tasks etc. He likes chatting and socialising , visiting the cinema, gym and his family and he has a car he uses for daily trips out, therefore he will need a carer who can drive. This role will suit someone who enjoys a physical and active role as the client transfers frequently requiring specific moving and handling procedures and enjoys being active most days. He lives in a spacious home with a garden with his partner, his family often visit who have a dog .

Job Details:

  Rota & Pay:

Rota: 2-week live-in assignment , succeeded by a 2-week rest period. Following 1-week rest, you have the option to work with another client for 1 week. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota , working conveniently from home.
Pay rate: £139.81 per day.
Travel allowance: Competitive travel allowance for each placement.
Food allowance: Competitive food allowance per day, if applicable.

  Live-In Care Responsibilities

Assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, and daily living activities.
Provide support with spinal injury care and encourage independence.
Observe and record the client’s health status, and ensure their safety and well-being.
Arrange transportation for appointments, outings, and travel when required.

Location: DA16

Driver: Essential – the client goes out every day and carers need to drive the client's adapted vehicle and must have clean driver's licence. You must be a driver and happy to help with regular community outings.
Pets: Household has 1 dog

Male carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1). You don’t need spinal injury experience – just a willingness to learn, a common-sense approach and the ability to follow the client’s lead.

Responsibilities

Training & Support:
