Graduate Science Teaching Assistant: Your Role
As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for
- Supporting pupils in science lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and confident in their learning
- Deliver 1-1 and small group interventions to help students prepare for exams and overcome barriers to progress
- Assisting in practical lab lessons, ensuring experiments run smoothly and safely
- Helping to create an inspiring learning environment where curiosity and creativity can flourish

Graduate Science Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
The ideal Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, will have:
- A 2:1 or higher degree in a science related subject from a top University
- Strong academic background throughout GCSE’s and A-Levels
- A strong passion for education and a long-term ambition to teach, mentor or work with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and encourage secondary students
- Previous experience working with young people (mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential
