What You’ll Do as a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant , you will work closely with experienced teachers to support the academic and personal development of students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support in subjects such as History, Geography, and Politics.
- Assisting with lesson preparation and in-class activities.
- Helping students develop critical thinking, essay writing, and exam preparation skills.
- Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging and inclusive Humanities lessons.
- Contributing to a positive, curious, and achievement-focused classroom environment.
Who We’re Looking For
To be successful in this Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
- A 2:1 or higher degree in a Humanities-related subject (e.g., History, Philosophy, Geography, Politics) from a top university.
- A passion for the Humanities and a desire to share that enthusiasm with young people.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting student progress.
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
