Head of Prudential Risk – Wholesale Banking

A leading international wholesale bank is seeking a Head of Prudential Risk to oversee the full spectrum of capital, liquidity, market, strategic and model risks across the Group. Reporting to the CRO, this is a high visibility role providing second-line oversight and driving a robust prudential risk framework.

You will play a central role in reviewing and challenging ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP, stress testing, regulatory reporting, treasury activities and enterprise-wide risk assessments. The position requires deep technical expertise across prudential regulation (CRD/CRR, PRA supervisory expectations, Basel and EBA frameworks) and strong analytical capability to assess complex risk positions and emerging regulatory developments.

Success in this role demands excellent stakeholder and governance engagement: you’ll work closely with Treasury, Finance, the CRO, ALCO and wider senior management to influence decision-making, shape risk appetite and ensure high-quality prudential oversight. Model Risk Management experience is also highly beneficial.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced prudential risk specialist from a UK wholesale banking environment looking to take ownership of a broad, strategically important portfolio of risks.
