Media Team Lead

Job Description

We are supporting a rapidly growing performance marketing and digital acquisition business with the appointment of a Media Team Lead to join its London-based team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced media buyer who has progressed into team management and has strong experience across affiliate/comparison traffic, paid social, mobile acquisition and performance marketing .

You will lead a team of Media Buyers while taking ownership of media strategy, budgets, performance targets and the development of new acquisition channels across multiple markets.

Responsibilities:

As a Media Team Lead, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Media Buyers , creating a high-performance and collaborative environment.

• Set and oversee media buying strategies across paid social, programmatic, mobile/app and direct channels .

• Develop and manage paid social strategies across platforms such as Meta, Snapchat, X, Reddit, Telegram and emerging channels .

• Own the performance of high-volume affiliate and comparison-site campaigns , from strategy and creative through to launch, scaling and optimisation.

• Manage relationships with media channels, platforms, DSPs and other acquisition partners.

• Identify and evaluate new DSPs, mobile media sources and acquisition channels to diversify traffic and unlock new growth opportunities.

• Forecast, allocate and manage media budgets across multiple platforms and geographical markets.

• Monitor expenditure, revenue, ROI/ROAS and other key performance indicators against monthly targets.

• Lead mobile acquisition activity, including app installs, in-app events and native in-app advertising formats , alongside web acquisition.

• Define KPIs and use data analysis to identify performance opportunities and areas for improvement.

• Drive structured A/B testing, creative iteration and continuous campaign optimisation .

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve productivity, campaign performance and overall business results.

• Navigate platform compliance, certification and whitelisting requirements, particularly within regulated markets.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in media buying , with at least 2 years in a managerial or team leadership position .

• Previous in-house experience within an affiliate business is required.

• Strong hands-on experience working with affiliate or comparison-site traffic .

• Experience within a regulated or high-compliance industry , such as online gambling, sports betting, crypto or another comparable environment.

• Strong understanding of paid social platforms, including Meta, X, Snapchat, Reddit, Telegram or similar channels .

• Experience with platform compliance, certification and/or whitelisting processes in regulated verticals.

• Proven experience with mobile app acquisition / user acquisition (UA) , including app installs, in-app events and native advertising formats.

• Working knowledge of mobile measurement platforms such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or similar MMPs .

• Experience managing significant media budgets against ROI/ROAS targets across multiple markets .

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn campaign data into actionable decisions.

• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and commercial awareness.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team while remaining hands-on with performance.
