Join Caytons, Gallagher Bassett’s in-house law firm. We’re looking for an experienced Claims Handler - Professional Indemnity to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied and engaging caseload within a highly regarded in-house legal environment, with real scope for progression as we continue to expand.

\n In this remote based role, you’ll manage a caseload primarily focused on Professional Indemnity claims, alongside exposure to areas such as Drivers’ Negligence. You’ll handle claims across a diverse range of professions, including construction, architects, surveyors, engineers, solicitors, accountants, brokers and insurers - offering plenty of variety and technical challenge.\n

- \n
- Managing and progressing claims through to resolution in a timely and cost effective manner \n
- Reviewing and interpreting policy coverage, applying insurer claims philosophies \n
- Working within delegated authority and referring matters outside of authority where required \n
- Applying a fair and consistent approach to indemnity and liability decisions \n
- Supporting the delivery of SLAs and KPIs across the portfolio \n
- Maintaining high quality file notes and accurate management information (MI) \n
- Assisting with bordereaux reporting and general claims administration \n
- Working closely with the admin team to ensure efficient file progression \n
About You \n
\n
\n
\n
- \n
- Proven experience managing Professional Indemnity claims (essential) \n
- Legal background - Law degree, LPC or equivalent is desirable \n
- A background as a Claims Handler or Adjuster (TPA or insurer environment preferred) \n
- Experience working under delegated authority with strong understanding of referral processes \n
- Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on high quality file management and documentation \n
- Strong organisational, negotiation and decision making skills \n
- A proactive, client focused approach with excellent communication skills \n
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment \n
