Quantity Surveyor
Location: London, Central.
Salary: Up to £56,000 per annum
Package: Annual Bonus, Car Allowance, All Travel Expenses Covered We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Project Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join our team within a major renewals project in the Southern Region, delivering critical works across Network Rail’s Southern Route. This position has become available as a replacement for a departing team member and represents a fantastic opportunity for career development in a major infrastructure environment. About the Role As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual elements of various elements, which are part of a long-term infrastructure programme expected to run over two five-year phases (5+5 years). These projects span Kent, Sussex, and Wessex, with each scheme at varying stages of the project lifecycle. You will report directly to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and be an integral part of the commercial team, ensuring financial governance, risk management, and cost control are effectively maintained. Key Responsibilities: Managing commercial and contractual matters Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, valuations, and final accounts. Ensuring adherence to NEC contracts (experience in NEC is highly desirable). Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities. Engaging with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to support procurement and project delivery. About You: We’re looking for a commercially astute and proactive individual with a solid grounding in quantity surveying and a passion for infrastructure projects. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Accredited qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field, such as: A degree accredited by RICS, CIOB, or ICES. Alternatively, a relevant HND in construction, urban/land studies, civil or structural engineering. Demonstrable experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure or construction projects. Desirable: Prior experience in civil engineering and/or rail projects. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (preferred but not mandatory).
