About us
Ocean Energy Pathway (OEP) fast-tracks the development of a sustainable, high ambition, global offshore wind sector, as part of a thriving blue economy. As a not-for-profit organisation, OEP delivers expert, independent technical assistance to governments and stakeholders and works with policymakers, industry, conservation leaders, and other stakeholders to build strategies to sustainable scale for the sector. OEP is scaling globally and has launched operations in Brazil, India, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, and South Korea.
Role Overview
Join a fast-growing, impact-driven organisation at the forefront of offshore wind development and the global energy transition. We are seeking a proactive and intellectually curious Policy Associate to strengthen our policy team’s research and strategic analysis capacity. This role will complement our existing team by focusing on rapid, high-quality insight generation, monitoring sector and political trends, and supporting thought leadership to guide our global strategy and country-level impact.
Given the broad remit of our strategy and policy team, this role offers a variety of tasks and responsibilities—from providing essential research and strategic support to country teams, to taking ownership of thematic and geographic policy areas. Depending on the candidate’s skills and experience, this Policy Associate role may have a primary regional or thematic focus.
Your team
You will report to the Global Strategy Director and will interact with the broader, matrixed team across the secretariat and country offices.

- Lead rapid-response research and analysis to inform senior leadership and country teams on offshore wind and clean energy developments globally.
- Proactively monitor, interpret, and synthesise sector, political, and market trends within a primary region (Asia-Pacific or Latin America, for example), tailored to complement existing team coverage.
- Produce clear, concise briefing notes, policy alerts, and thematic reports to support strategic decision-making and thought leadership.
Project Support & Coordination (25%)
- Provide project management support to selected strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery and integration of research outputs.
- Collaborate closely with the Impact and Communications Leads to embed research insights into impact assessment, grant reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Stakeholder Engagement (15%)
- Map and track relevant policy, industry, and civil society stakeholders to support strategic relationship building.
- Assist in coordination of targeted engagement activities , including preparing briefing materials and meeting documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
- 4-6 years of professional experience dedicated to policy research, analysis, consulting, or advisory roles in energy, climate, sustainability, or related sectors.
- Strong ability to translate policy and market data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing briefing notes, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, predominantly remote-working environment.
- Interest in offshore wind, clean energy, climate change, conservation, or sustainability is essential; prior knowledge of offshore wind is a plus but not required.
- Comfort with data and analytical tools is desirable.
- Experience or familiarity with either Asia-Pacific or Latin America regions is advantageous but not essential; willingness to quickly develop regional expertise is key.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in other languages relevant to our regions is a strong asset.
Benefits
- Collaborative and inclusive work environment, balancing remote and in-person work.
- Competitive salary and pension scheme (The People’s Pension).
- Professional development opportunities with dedicated budget for skills and career growth.
- Potential for travel and exposure to global policy debates.
- Private Healthcare
