Religious Education Position | Independent School, Enfield
A highly selective independent senior school in Enfield, known for fostering critical thinking and philosophical debate, seeks a dedicated Teacher of Religious Education (RE) to join their Humanities faculty starting January 2026.
Responsibilities
- Deliver stimulating and academically rigorous RE/Philosophy and Ethics lessons across the secondary range, including GCSE and A-Level.
- Challenge high-ability students to engage with complex ethical dilemmas and theological arguments.
- Contribute actively to the school's wider academic life, potentially through leading debating clubs or philosophical societies.
- Monitor student attainment and provide targeted academic extension and support.
Requirements
- A strong degree in Theology, Philosophy, or Religious Studies and proven success teaching up to A-Level in a selective environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent independent sector experience is preferred.
- Seeking an intellectually agile professional committed to scholarly standards and the pursuit of truth.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with both students and parents.
