🏫 HR Manager - Brent | Join a Busy Secondary School
Brent | ⏰ ASAP Start | Temporary to Permanent | 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday | Term Time Only | £44,000–£50,000 FTE
A busy secondary school in Brent is looking for a confident HR Manager to strengthen its existing HR function.
This is a hands-on position working alongside an HR Assistant, with responsibility for making sure staff receive a responsive HR service and that the school remains compliant with its employment and safeguarding responsibilities.
Your Responsibilities
Act as the main HR point of contact for staff and managers.
Manage recruitment from vacancy through to appointment and onboarding.
Advise on absence, probation, performance and employee relations.
Support formal HR processes, including disciplinary and grievance cases.
Maintain the school's HR records and systems.
Oversee safer recruitment checks and the Single Central Register.
Keep policies and procedures up to date.
Support payroll and contractual changes.
Work with the HR Assistant to keep the wider HR administration running smoothly.
What We're Looking For
You’ll ideally have school HR experience and be comfortable working in a busy secondary-school environment.
We’re looking for someone who knows their employment law, can give sensible and practical advice, and is confident dealing with sensitive issues.
CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience would be desirable.
