Junior Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Engineer in our Finance & Payments team.

The Finance & Payments team works on critical payments infrastructure to ensure other systems are easily able to send and receive payments to and from borrowers, brokers and investors. They are also responsible for ensuring that we comply with FCA regulations with regards to reconciliations.

The role

• You will collaborate closely with your team, using pair programming and code reviews to build and maintain our products. This is a hands-on role where you'll be writing code, working on existing solutions, and learning from experienced engineers every day.

• You will actively participate in all aspects of team life, from daily stand-ups and retrospectives to contributing to documentation and engaging with the wider engineering community. Your voice is important, and you'll be encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and help shape a positive and effective team culture.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in either Python or Ruby
• A proactive and curious learner with a genuine passion for technology. You are someone who actively seeks feedback, isn't afraid to ask questions when you're stuck, and is driven to continuously develop your skills and understanding of our business domain.

• A collaborative team player with a foundational understanding of software development principles. You should be familiar with version control (like Git) and have some experience writing code, but more importantly, you thrive on working with others, listening to different perspectives, and contributing to a positive and inclusive team environment.
