IT Support Manager (3-Month Contract)
The role
Step into a strategic IT leadership role where you’ll oversee the internal technology function and guide it through ongoing growth and transformation. As IT Support Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality End User Support and Desktop Engineering services, ensuring a seamless and secure user experience across all devices and platforms.
You’ll also own Application Management, keeping business-critical systems effectively maintained, integrated, and aligned with organizational needs. Every technology initiative you drive will support business objectives and deliver continuous improvement across systems, services, and processes.
Salary : £60–65k per annum, pro rata.
Key responsibilities
End User Support
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of all IT services. Oversee incident and request management, maintenance, with a focus on user experience.
- Deliver high-quality support services to end users, ensuring timely resolution of issues and proactive communication.
Desktop Support
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of desktop and mobile devices.
- Ensure consistent, secure, and efficient desktop environments that support productivity and collaboration.
Management
- Build and nurture a high-performing IT team. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and ongoing professional development.
- Work with the IT Director to develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and delivery of projects within agreed financial parameters.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of IT performance data, reporting key insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
Reporting and Relationships
- Reports to IT Director
- Key internal relationships: Department Heads / Business Unit Leaders, IT Team Members, HR, Security / Legal Teams
- Key external relationships: Technology Vendors and Service Providers, Consultants / Project Partners, Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
About you
Essential:
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft M365 and Azure environment
- Demonstrable experience in an IT management role , preferably within a fast-growing organization
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills , with the ability to influence at all levels
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, security, applications, and cloud technologies
- Experience leading, developing, and inspiring technical teams
- Strong analytical skills , able to leverage data to drive performance improvement
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant IT discipline
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, ITIL, Prince2)
- Experience with Office 365, Azure AD, Intune
