SEMH Teaching Assistant - Northolt
A welcoming primary school in Northolt is seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September or sooner. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and help them engage positively with learning.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. The role will involve providing 1:1 and small group support, helping children develop self-regulation skills, build positive relationships, and access learning successfully within the classroom environment.
The school is looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant who can remain calm under pressure, build trust with pupils, and implement consistent strategies to support behaviour and emotional wellbeing. You will work alongside class teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral staff to create a structured and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs would be highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will be patient, confident, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
