Business Analyst – Electronic Trading

Quant Capital is urgently looking for an Electronic Trading Business Analyst to join our high profile client.

The Business Analyst Role has come around due to an expansion and strategic change and the Business Analyst will report in to the two owners of the business. The Business Analyst Will:

• Work on various industry initiatives in the capacity as a business analyst with deep understanding and experience of electronic trading and markets in FI and/or FX.
• Collecting, understanding and translating the business requirements into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
• Analysing and documenting current state business processes and data flows and take key findings into design proposals for solution implementation.
• Providing support to the Project Manager to ensure effective planning organising and monitoring of the process component including providing input and preparing and presenting business cases, project plans and stakeholder communications
• Producing weekly reports for the project manager showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies.
• Ensuring that project methodology and standards are enforced with respect to Business Analysis tasks.

Our client provides independent expert advice, implementation and remediation for front office electronic trading environments. Their clients include leading investment banks, asset managers and hedge funds. They use well-established and bespoke methodologies to deliver solutions ranging from trading platform reviews to ultra-low latency design and development of front office trading systems. Their engagements span front office engagements within Fixed Income, Equities and FX.

Business Analysts Must Have:

• 4-8 years’ experience working within the buy-side, sell-side, relevant vendor or ECN.
• Experience in one or more of the following across the trading lifecycle: Risk management, Price formation, tiering and distribution, execution, STP
• Successful track record contributing high quality input and value to complex projects to aggressive timelines/budgets within in Investment Banking / Capital Markets front office (business and/or technology) gained through a specialist Capital Markets consultancy, a top tier Investment Bank, a leading broker or a capital markets infrastructure firm (e.g. ECN, exchange, etc.)
• Good understanding of one or more capital markets product areas including OTC (cash and derivatives) and exchange traded derivatives in fixed income, FX, commodities and equities
• Good understanding of the electronic trading market structure including key FI and/or FX players, offerings and differentiators e.g. Dealer platforms and channels, ECNs, utilities and vendors.
• On-boarding covering client enablement, execution venue enablement, master client data and mappings, KYC, etc.
• MIFID II analysis covering front office OTC cash and derivatives
• Front to back trade life cycle knowledge, preferably with Operations focus

My client has a family feel and traditional values but is known as by far the best low latency consultancy in the world. They have recently implemented a FIX standard for Fixed Income Trading. They have been trading for 8 years and have around 40 people in the office so personality fit is important. They are a privately owned debt and VC free entity so equity is a serious option.
