Nanny

We are looking for a caring, calm and knowledgeable full-time nanny with at least 8 years’ professional experience caring for babies and toddlers to support first time parents with their baby son. The family has a small dog, so the nanny should be comfortable around dogs, although no pet care is required.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced career nanny to join a warm, professional family and play an important role in their son’s early years. Both parents work full time and are looking for someone they can trust completely and who will work in partnership with them. Mum will work from home three days a week and would like to be involved while respecting the nanny’s role.

Their son is currently 7.5 months old (born February 2026) and is a happy, curious, alert and engaged baby. He enjoys being outdoors, books and interacting with the world around him. The family would love a nanny who will build on his natural curiosity through plenty of fun, developmentally appropriate play and engagement.

A strong understanding of early years development is particularly important. The nanny should be proactive and confident planning his days, researching local classes and activities, arranging outings and introducing him to new experiences and opportunities as he grows. As he gets older, they would also like the nanny to arrange play dates and encourage socialisation.

The family are looking for someone who can create a stimulating and varied week while recognising the importance of routine, downtime and independent play. Early years or childcare qualifications would be highly valued.

The nanny will prepare fresh meals for their son, following a tailored plan provided by his nutritionist, so should be a confident cook and happy to follow nutritional guidance. The role will also include some bottle feeds and all usual nursery duties, including his laundry and ironing. They also employ a cleaner, and the nanny will only be responsible for nursery duties relating to their son. No driving is required for the role.

The parents are warm and supportive and hope to build a long-term relationship with a nanny who genuinely loves their work. A down to earth, calm and easy-going nature is important, alongside reliability, excellent communication and a positive approach.

LOCATION: St John’s Wood, NW8

START: Mid November

DAYS: Monday to Friday

HOURS: 50 hours per week (8am – 6pm)

SALARY: Competitive market rate depending on experience and qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
• 8+ years’ professional nanny experience with babies and toddlers
• Excellent checkable references
• Strong knowledge of early years development and milestones
• Experience with weaning, feeding and routines
• Childcare or early years qualifications highly desirable
• Confident cooking fresh, healthy meals
• Proactive, organised and reliable
• Able to commute easily to NW8
• Open to travelling with the family once or twice a year

DUTIES:
• Providing nurturing and developmentally focused care
• Planning age appropriate play, classes, activities and outings
• Supporting development, milestones and independence
• Arranging play dates and encouraging socialisation
• Preparing meals in line with the nutritionist’s guidance
• Some bottle feeding
• All nursery duties, including laundry and ironing
• Working closely and communicating with the parents
