English Teacher – Drive Dedicated Literacy and Foundational Skills in a Supportive Community School – Barking and Dagenham

A supportive , community-oriented secondary school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking a Dedicated English Teacher with a focus on improving KS3 literacy from January 2026. The school prides itself on its strong pastoral care and clear, consistent policies.

You will teach KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature , playing a key role in developing and delivering the school's dedicated literacy and reading intervention programme. The role requires a structured approach to teaching grammar and writing skills to improve foundational skills.

Experience and Qualifications

  • QTS and a degree in English or a relevant literary/linguistics field.
  • Experience or strong training in literacy intervention techniques.
  • Commitment to a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver structured and clear instruction with excellent classroom management.
