Global Finance Director

Our client, a large global law firm, is seeking an experienced Global Finance Director to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of its global finance function.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with senior leadership across multiple international regions, this is a high–profile appointment combining strategic leadership, commercial partnering, financial governance and large–scale transformation.

The firms has experienced significant international growth and is now focused on further enhancing the effectiveness, consistency and commercial impact of its global finance function. The Role

Leading a sizeable international finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing key finance functions including:

• Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Group Financial Reporting
• Budgeting, Forecasting & Long–Term Planning
• Audit & Financial Governance
• Business Intelligence & Performance Reporting
• Treasury & Financial Control
• Finance Transformation Initiatives

You will provide meaningful financial insight to executive leadership, supporting strategic decision–making through robust analysis, modelling and performance reporting.

The role will also be instrumental in driving consistency across international regions, enhancing reporting frameworks, improving processes and helping deliver a modern, data–led finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead global budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting and year–end audit processes.
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks are maintained globally.
• Deliver insightful commercial analysis to support profitability and performance improvement.
• Support executive leadership with scenario modelling and strategic decision–making.
• Develop meaningful KPIs and reporting frameworks across international operations.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives focused on systems, processes and operating model improvements.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to improve commercial performance and support growth initiatives.
• Build, develop and mentor a high–performing international finance leadership team.

About You

We are interested in speaking with experienced finance leaders who bring a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise and strong people leadership.

Experience needed:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience within a large, complex international organisation.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, audit, financial control and FP&A.
• Experience operating within multi–entity, multi–currency environments.
• A track record of leading finance transformation and process improvement programmes.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive and board–level audiences.
• Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insight.

Experience within professional services, partnerships, legal services, consulting, or another complex international environment will be required.
