Mid-Weight Video Editor | Job Description

Fabric Social is on the hunt for a London-based Mid-Weight Video Editor for immediate start.

We are looking for a technically skilled and social media savvy social-first video editor, highly creative and proficient in Premiere Pro and After Effects, to join the team at Fabric Social UK!

The social-first video content you will be editing will be wide-ranging, but ultimately you will be responsible for cutting fast-turnaround content for some of the UK’s biggest and most exciting consumer brands; including Currys, Sky, Subway and Holland and Barrett. You'll be a key player in crafting original, social-first brand content that resonates with consumers and drives results.

The Role:

• Editing a wide range of Social-First content: Predominantly, you will be editing various short-form videos for our clients’ social pages (primarily TikTok and IG) along with some longer form content for YouTube. You will be comfortable taking on the initial brief from our creative team and owning the editing side to create the final asset. There may also be briefs that will require After Effects to create on screen animation and motion graphics along with some tidying up of the audio / visual in post.

• Type of content to edit includes: iPhone 16Pro shot content / DSLR shot content, 30-60 second TikToks/cutdowns from wider shoots, ‘Brand-In-Hand’ self-shot ‘jump cut’ style, Vox Pops, Basic comedy skits, Talking-Head, montage ‘hype reel’ work, and much more…

• Report: You will report in to our Senior Editor and Motion Graphics lead, who will also mentor and hone your skillset over time.

General Requirements

• London-based (you will be expected in-office 3x a week, as well as to attend various shoots around the city at times)

• 3-5 years of experience professionally in Social Media Video

• Some experience editing 'brand-in-hand' POV/macro-shot social content.

• Some experience editing TikTok-first ‘skit’ based comedy content

• A keen grasp for writing visual text hooks/captions to sell the ‘idea’ of a piece of content to the viewer.

• Strong, natural understanding and enjoyment of Video for TikTok & Instagram; a knowledge of what highly engaging social first video needs to look like

• Natural visual editing instincts, eye for detail

• Natural instincts for both rapid-fire editing and social-first comedic timing in the editing process.

• Excited by Social Trends with an understanding of ‘Online’ culture and social humour

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Technical Skillset Requirements

• Editing / Motion Graphics Skills: Premiere Pro (proficient) + After Effects

• Basic Photoshop / Illustrator understanding required.

• Experience and clear understanding on editing in 9;16 vertical video formats

• Instinctively speedy turnarounds on editing short-form content (We would expect you to be able to edit around 8-9 very basic 5-10second videos per day, depending on demand)

Preferred (Non-essential to apply)

• CapCut editing skills

• Experience working within Social Media / marketing agencies; freelance or in-house

• Experience with Videography / self-shooting

• Sound Design experience/understanding.

• Advanced Motion Graphics skills (After Effects skills are required)
