Skills and Competencies

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and strategic account management, with a focus on large global corporate clients within the insurance sector
  • Strong understanding of the insurance market across the UK and Continental Europe, including insurers, reinsurers, and brokers
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g. Chief Underwriting Officers, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Operating Officers)
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets through account growth, cross-selling, and new business within existing portfolios
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience structuring and closing complex, multi-year, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement
  • Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively in a global, matrixed organization
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with interest in applying AI capabilities to improve client engagement, decision-making, and operational efficiency
  • Established network within the London market and strong understanding of market dynamics and trends
  • Professional insurance qualifications (e.g. Chartered Insurance Institute certification)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for owning and growing strategic client relationships while driving sustainable revenue growth across a portfolio of global corporate accounts within the Insurance Segment.

  • Own and grow strategic relationships with assigned global insurance accounts, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
  • Develop and execute account strategies to drive revenue growth across new business, renewals, and long-term client value creation
  • Lead and close complex renewal negotiations, ensuring client retention while identifying opportunities for expansion
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycles, coordinating across internal teams including solution specialists and workflow experts
  • Deliver Moody’s Analytics value proposition through a consultative sales approach aligned to client business needs
  • Identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities to maximize account penetration
  • Maintain a robust pipeline, advancing and closing opportunities through structured forecasting and pipeline management
  • Capture and share market intelligence, client insights, and industry trends to inform commercial and product strategy
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and opportunity analysis within CRM systems
  • Travel up to 50% to engage with clients while operating within a hybrid working environment

About the Team

The Insurance Sales team drives the growth of Moody’s Analytics by delivering integrated, high-impact solutions that support insurers across underwriting, pricing, reserving, capital management, and risk analytics.
The Relationship Management function plays a critical role within the Insurance segment, partnering closely with Product, Strategy, and Delivery teams to deliver client value and strengthen long-term relationships.
