Commercial Finance Manager
White Stuff was established in 1985 through a simple idea. This idea grew and now we have shops and concessions in the UK and internationally, selling women’s and men’s clothing as well as beautiful accessories and homeware. Our original prints (all designed in house), intricate details and considered design touches reflect our personality and make us subtly distinctive.
Our people are at the heart of our brand, constantly moving and driving us forward. We’re sociable, talented and likeminded and we’re not hierarchical or political in how we do business. We encourage entrepreneurial ideas and accountability at all levels.
Who you are:
The successful Commercial Finance Manager will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant commercial experience who strives to deliver continuous improvement. You must be a good communicator and business partner, commercially savvy, have strong analytical skills and be able to present financial data clearly and accurately to senior finance managers and non-finance personnel.
Primary objective of the job:
You will partner closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the Senior Commercial Finance Manager to deliver the financial insight that drives smart, commercial decisions across our Online Business and Distribution Centre. As the go-to-finance lead for your areas, you will take ownership of forecasting, commercial analysis and budget management, to ensure your business partners have the insight they need to make sound business decisions.

Owning forecasting and budgeting for your areas, ensuring assumptions are robust, well‑challenged and aligned with business priorities.
Managing the month‑end process for your areas — preparing pre‑month‑end reviews, ensuring accruals and adjustments are accurate, and producing clear commentary that explains results and variances.
Preparing regular reporting and commentary , including key KPI’s that translate financial data into meaningful insight for non‑finance colleagues.
Supporting cost control and efficiency by monitoring spend, highlighting variances and working with teams to stay on track.
Contributing to business cases and scenario modelling to support new initiatives, operational improvements and future planning.
What you’ll need:
Qualified accountant ( ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
Experience in a commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering role, ideally within a retail, Online or operational environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insight into clear actions.
Confidence working with stakeholders at different levels, building trusted relationships and communicating financial information clearly.
A proactive, results driven approach, with the ability to challenge constructively and support teams in making informed decisions.
Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting and month‑end processes.
Comfortable working with large data sets and financial systems, with strong Excel skills and a problem-solving mindset to analyse, interpret and improve processes.
Well organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to get involved, learn and adapt as the business evolves.
