Wayman Education is recruiting a SEN TA for a primary school in Tower Hamlets. The SEN TA will deliver structured interventions, support pupils during whole-class teaching, assist with social skills programmes and contribute to personalised learning plans. This SEN TA vacancy starts January 2026, with a full induction and handover arranged prior to January 2026 so the SEN TA can begin the spring term fully prepared.

About the role
The SEN TA will work under direction from the SENCo to implement bespoke programmes, adapt classroom activities, support sensory regulation and monitor pupils’ progress. Based in Tower Hamlets, the SEN TA will join a multidisciplinary team that values multi-agency liaison and practical, evidence-based approaches to support. The SEN TA will be expected to maintain accurate records and to help prepare materials for review meetings.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group teaching that accelerates learning.
- Support classroom access by scaffolding tasks and modelling strategies for independence.
- Assist with sensory or personal-care needs where relevant and follow individual protocols.
- Feed into reviews, update records and communicate progress with the SENCo and families in Tower Hamlets.
- Help with transitions, playground supervision and pastoral routines to ensure consistent support.
Person specification
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and confidence running interventions as a SEN TA.
- Calm, flexible and able to work collaboratively across the Tower Hamlets school community.
- Reliable, with good record-keeping skills and the ability to attend induction in advance of January 2026.
