Welcome to a New Era of Mobile Repair!
About the Role
The organization is seeking a dedicated Mobile Vehicle Technician to join our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. This is not your typical roadside rescue role; instead, you will deliver planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members at their convenience.
What You Can Expect
Your day will start with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and the member is expecting you. Your responsibilities will include:
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically completed in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations based on inspections
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with our standards
With no emergency callouts or unpredictable shift patterns, you will have the time and tools needed to perform quality work.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled jobs efficiently and effectively.
- Utilize a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics.
- Provide high-quality service and reassurance to members.
What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Working Conditions
- 40 hours per week with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- 1 in 4 Saturdays required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: Base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable), with on-target earnings of up to £57,000.
- Guaranteed Overtime: Option to increase your base salary with additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- Time Off: 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays.
- Financial Security: Pension scheme with up to 6.5% matched contributions and life assurance cover.
- Wellbeing Support: 24/7 confidential support service available for you and your household members.
- Exclusive Discounts: Access to a discount portal with deals across top retailers and more.
Opportunities for Growth
We are committed to your ongoing development, including future training in electric vehicle and diagnostic skills. This role offers the stability and support of a trusted national organization while allowing you the independence to thrive.
Who Thrives Here?
We are looking for individuals who are not only skilled with tools but also excel in customer service. As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you will be the face of our organization, providing reassurance and high-quality service directly to our members.
If you are ready to take the next step in your career and enjoy a role that offers variety, independence, and the chance to genuinely help people, we encourage you to apply!
