Location: Ealing, West London
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term (term-time only)
Salary: £85–£110 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Start Date: Immediate / September Start
About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to work in a welcoming and inclusive primary or secondary school located in the London Borough of Ealing . This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is committed to making a meaningful difference in pupils’ educational and emotional development.
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and moderate to severe learning difficulties . Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis or within small groups , depending on the needs of the pupils and the structure of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN to enable access to the curriculum
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour management
Assist with classroom preparation and adaptation of learning materials
Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils
Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing at all times

Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour when required
Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Flexible and proactive, with a positive attitude
Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
A good understanding of common SEN needs and strategies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential)
SEN-related qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, Autism training, Team Teach)
Experience working in Ealing or similar London boroughs
Background in psychology, education, youth work, or care
