  A prestigious life reinsurer is hiring into its London Protection Pricing team. The team leads experience analysis and best-estimate assumption setting for reinsurance tenders across the UK, Ireland and wider Europe, working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Client Solutions, R&D and Analytics.

  The role

  • Build and own assumptions and reinsurance rates for Life, CI and IP tenders.
  • Run pricing models, perform experience analysis and produce well-reasoned pricing papers.
  • Balance technical depth with pragmatism ; suggest improvements to tools, models and processes.
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and contribute to winning and maintaining profitable business.

  The profile that tends to stand out

  • Analyst / Senior Analyst , part-qualified and ~1–2 years from qualification , with a strong exam track record.
  • Background at a direct insurer in pricing, product or research , performing at a high level and keen to move into reinsurance .
  • Some knowledge of the UK/Ireland Protection market (insurer or reinsurer) is desirable.

  Typical requirements

  • Student member of a recognised actuarial body; ~8 exams passed (guide).
  • Experience in a technical role at a (re)insurer, consultancy or related statistical field.
  • Working knowledge of experience analysis, basis setting, cashflow modelling and product design .
  • Proficient with Excel and at least one of R / a pricing or cashflow modelling tool.
  • Able to interpret data, form clear conclusions and communicate them succinctly.
