Priory Sutton's Manor is looking to recruit Healthcare Support Worker's to join their team. This is a full time 37.5 hour per week role.

  • £12.60 per hour
  • £24,637.57 per year
  • Mixture of day and night shift's, must be flexible
  • MUST have full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is set in Stapleford Tawney, a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district, near the town of Romford. The hospital is set in its own attractive grounds of over nine acres, which supports an amazing horticulture programme and grants access to an idyllic countryside landscape, which, by its very nature, promotes wellbeing. We model our services on the NHS’ secure services, this makes sure that our patients are given the highest quality of care, to help them move quickly and smoothly into local services, wherever possible.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role.

However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you'll be doing

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.

As a Support Worker , you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.

As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding and patience
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Competent in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
  • To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.
