The Role
We have an exciting opportunity available to join the team as an Executive Assistant to our COO and CIO. This is a pivotal role within the Organising Company, ensuring the effective functioning of the leadership of Glasgow 2026.
Providing direct support to our Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO), the postholder will be central to enabling our leaders to deliver at pace and with impact. This includes diary management, meeting preparation, governance support and strong stakeholder engagement — all delivered with professionalism and discretion.
Beyond this, the Executive Assistant will also play a key role in supporting the Executive Office as a whole, whether by directly assisting other directors or by providing cover for fellow Executive Assistants.
This includes contributing to the smooth running of key meetings and ensuring the leadership team as a whole is, consistently supported to perform at its best.
This is a fast-paced, high-profile appointment that calls for a highly organised and proactive operator with excellent communication skills, political intuition, and the ability to adapt quickly within a complex and evolving organisational and partner landscape.
The successful candidate will not only manage competing priorities with confidence but also thrive on contributing to the overall success of Glasgow 2026.
Key Skills and Experience:
We welcome applications from a wide range of sectors and from individuals at all stages of their career. Experience gained in the event industry, project support, personal assistant, private office, executive office or senior administration role is preferred.
The successful candidate will be self motivated, passionate and collaborative with a clear desire to ensure the Games are delivered to the highest standards.
Key attributes include strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential with the ability to influence others and manage relationships and to identify and adapt communications to suit the relevant audience.
If you are experienced at providing support and advice to C-suite, Executive team and Board, have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a proactive attitude with a prominent level of initiative, we would love to hear from you!
