Senior Automation Tester - Azure, Data modelling,Web Service, Python, GitHub, WFH, £750

A forward-thinking organisation seeks a Digital Delivery Senior Automation Tester to develop, maintain, and enhance IT systems using advanced cloud technologies, including AI and ML projects. The role involves creating automated UI and API tests, collaborating with developers, and ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions within a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include system testing, security compliance, defect management, and contributing to project design and documentation. The candidate should demonstrate leadership qualities, stakeholder engagement, continuous learning, and mentoring abilities. Essential skills include experience with cloud platforms (especially Azure), automation tools, web service testing, and Agile practices, with desirable skills like DevOps, Docker, and Python.

Main Duties

Technical Responsibilities

Write, execute, and maintain automated UI and API tests/suites (functional and non-functional) aligned with acceptance criteria to support continuous deployment.Test data processing workflows.Design, develop, test, maintain, and document robust, scalable, and reusable solutions that deliver excellent user experiences, following DevOps best practices.Collaborate with software developers to ensure shared understanding of code base and test coverage at the unit level.Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver highly user-focused digital services, ensuring compliance with governance standards.Identify and manage defects, incidents, risks, and issues in accordance with organizational standards.Build automated testing solutions from scratch in line with testing strategies and engineering principles.Contribute to the design, coding, testing, and documentation of projects ranging from small to large, complex, or mission-critical.Develop toolkits and APIs for integration, performance optimization, security, and scalability.Apply technical security controls aligned with ISO 27001 and the Security Policy Framework (SPF)

Essential Experience

Significant involvement in delivering technical solutions within large projects.Experience working with cloud platforms, especially Azure.Familiarity with data modeling.Experience creating test documentation, including strategies and approaches.Testing both front-end and back-end web services.Familiarity with Agile methodologies.Working knowledge of Azure DevOps.

Essential Technical Skills

Experience with automation tools such as MS Visual Studio with C#, Selenium, BDD, RestSharp, MSTest, and JavaScript.Knowledge of non-functional testing tools like JMeter and Azure Load Test.Experience using GitHub.Strong understanding of architectural principles and design patterns.Ability to write SQL queries.

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of Unit Testing.Advocacy for DevOps principles.ISTQB Foundation certification.Experience with Docker.Proficiency in Python.
