As a Graduate Façade Engineer, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team, working alongside experienced Engineers to develop your knowledge and experience across façade engineering and external wall fire consultancy. You will gain structured exposure to façade systems, external wall fire performance and building envelope design, while developing core engineering skills across structural, thermal and fire performance disciplines. With support from senior engineers, you will contribute to technical project delivery while developing the judgement, competence and professional behaviours needed to progress within either the façade design or external wall consultancy pathway.

Build your career in a supportive environment. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and diverse team where we strive to do the right thing for our people, clients and communities.

Take responsibility early. You will be given early responsibility and the opportunity to progress rapidly. Jensen Hughes encourages all Engineers to work towards chartered status, providing help and support throughout the process.

What will you be working on?

As a Graduate Facade Engineer, you’ll work on a variety of exciting projects.

Your work will include:

  • Participate in site inspections and intrusive surveys to establish external wall and façade build-ups, materials, fixings, and fire stopping provisions.
  • Assist with thermal engineering tasks, including thermal bridging reviews, U-value assessments, condensation risk inputs, and interpretation of modelling outputs under supervision.
  • Assist with structural engineering tasks related to façade systems, including basic load paths, fixings concepts, and interpretation of structural calculations prepared by senior engineers.
  • Support the coordination and review of test evidence, certifications, and product data relevant to façade and external wall performance.
  • Assist senior engineers with coordination between internal disciplines and external stakeholders.
  • Attend site visits, design meetings, and client meetings as required, under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records, site notes, and project documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Actively participate in training, mentoring, and professional development activities.
