Established in 1987 by a dedicated group of foster parents, we are proud to be the UK's first independent foster care agency. With over 30 years of experience, we focus on providing specialized support for looked-after children, particularly those who have faced challenging beginnings. Our Integrated Services Programme (ISP) ensures that children are at the heart of our mission, surrounded by a comprehensive range of support services.
Our team includes social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists, all working collaboratively with foster parents to navigate complex situations through a therapeutic approach to fostering.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to foster parents, managing a realistic caseload for effective supervision.
- Conduct regular supervision sessions with allocated foster parents, monitoring their practice and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in assessments, planning, reviews, and decision-making related to safeguarding and child protection.
Requirements
- Recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent, accredited by Social Care England.
- Previous experience in children and families social work.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and publications pertaining to children's services.
- Full driving license with unrestricted access to your own car.
- Excellent report writing skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Working Conditions
This is a demanding role that includes quality assurance responsibilities to maintain high standards and training for both prospective and current foster parents. The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, with costs covered by the organization.
