A leading, well-established accountancy and advisory practice is seeking an experienced Audit Senior Manager to join its City-based Financial Services audit team.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a highly ambitious, commercially astute audit professional with strong Financial Services experience, particularly across asset management, investment management, funds, and fintech businesses. This role does not focus on banking or insurance clients.
What you will be doing an Audit Senior Manager Financial Services:
- Manage and oversee the delivery of complex audit engagements from planning through to completion
- Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of key Financial Services clients
- Lead, mentor, and develop audit managers and wider team members, driving high performance and engagement
- Oversee multiple large and complex assignments concurrently, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met
- Take ownership of audit strategy, resource planning, and risk assessment across engagements
- Review audit work at a senior level, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with firm and regulatory standards
- Drive audit quality, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Financial Services audit function
- Work closely with Partners on client relationship management, retention, and strategic growth initiatives
- Play an active role in business development, including proposals, networking, and identifying new opportunities
- Ensure compliance with UK auditing and accounting standards, including FCA-regulated environments
- Maintain high levels of professional scepticism and uphold the firm's reputation for audit quality
What you will need to succeed as an Audit Senior Manager Financial Services :
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Currently operating at Audit Manager / Senior Manager level
- Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
- Proven background within a professional services firm
- Extensive experience auditing Financial Services clients, specifically:
- Asset / investment management firms
- FCA-regulated businesses
- FinTech companies
- Demonstrable experience managing large, complex audits and multiple deadlines
- Experience leading and developing teams, including managers
- Strong commercial awareness and experience contributing to business development
- Understanding of regulatory reporting environments (desirable)
- Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management, and client relationship skills
- High levels of motivation, attention to detail, and commitment to audit quality
