Manager - Engineering Lead - Insurance Technology, FS
Our UK Insurance Technology practice empowers some of the biggest Insurance clients to solve their most complex business problems and transform their organisations through embedding the latest technology in their organisation.

As part of the EY Insurance Technology practice, you will have the opportunity to work across a portfolio of engagements that will challenge you in areas such as Insurance Core Technology implementations, applying Blockchain technology to insurance, Mobile & Portals and Cloud Capabilities. Our EMEIA focus means that our team has a footprint that spans several geographies in Europe and continued investment in our practice has grown the team 30% year-on-year. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manager for an Engineering Lead role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the insurance domain and extensive experience in creating and managing engineering teams across multiple geographies. This role requires a visionary leader who can inspire and drive teams to achieve excellence in software development and delivery.
As a member of our growing Insurance Platforms practice, you will work as part of our growing team to
Manage engineering teams across various geographical locations, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
Oversee complex transformation projects involving multiple technologies, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality in delivery.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for engineering teams, driving progress and accountability.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and integrate these technologies into engineering processes to transform the software development lifecycle.
Communicate effectively with senior technical and non-technical client stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment on project goals.
Maintain strong documentation practices to ensure clarity and transparency in all engineering processes.
Contribute to a clear vision for the future of engineering within the organization, inspiring teams to work towards achieving that vision.
Coach and mentor team members to foster growth and development, creating a high-performing culture.
To qualify for the role you should have
Proven experience in the insurance domain.
Extensive experience in managing engineering teams across multiple geographies.
Demonstrated success in leading large-scale transformation projects with multiple technologies.
Strong people management skills with a focus on coaching and developing high-performing teams.
A continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of identifying and implementing process enhancements.
Proficient in establishing and driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for engineering teams.
In-depth knowledge of the latest advancements in AI and their application in software development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience managing senior technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
A background in software development, with hands-on experience in programming.
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
