SEN Teaching Assistant
KS1 & KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant

£110 - £125 per day | ASAP Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
Long Term Futures are working with an inclusive primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham to recruit a flexible and confident SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a varied role supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, behavioural needs and additional learning needs. The successful candidate must be adaptable and comfortable working across different year groups depending on where support is required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group SEN support across KS1 and KS2
- Supporting pupils with autism and behavioural needs
- Helping pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Delivering targeted learning and SEN interventions
- Supporting pupils during transitions and less structured parts of the school day
- Encouraging independence, communication and positive social interaction
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEN, autism or behavioural needs
- Is flexible and confident working across KS1 and KS2
- Can remain calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour
- Is proactive and able to adapt their approach to individual pupils
- Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
- Works effectively as part of a wider teaching and SEND team
Experience in SEN, behaviour mentoring, youth work, psychology or similar settings would be highly beneficial.
