History Teacher – Champion Source-Based Inquiry and Deliver Challenging Analytical History at KS5 – Havering
An academically ambitious secondary school in Havering is recruiting a dedicated and experienced History Teacher with a specialism in challenging KS5 analysis and scholarly depth from January 2026.
- History Teacher required from January 2026
- Havering-based school known for its strong scholarly atmosphere in the Humanities.
- Seeking a specialist to lead the development of advanced source evaluation and extended essay writing at A-Level.
You will teach History across KS3-KS5, ensuring the curriculum is challenging and skills-focused. The role includes developing departmental expertise in scaffolding complex historical arguments and preparing students for competitive university applications.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a degree in History.
- Proven ability to secure high grades at A-Level History (ideally across different boards).
- Experience in curriculum design focusing on analytical and research skills.
- Willingness to contribute to academic enrichment programs, such as history clubs or EPQ mentoring.
