Head of New Business
Anderson Knight is partnering with a respected legal services firm to recruit a Head of New Business, based in Glasgow.
This is a newly created, high-impact role for a commercially driven professional who thrives on building relationships, winning work, and driving growth. The role will lead the expansion of the firm’s remortgaging and conveyancing legal services across Scotland.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (with flexibility for travel and client meetings)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + performance-based commission
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, build, and maintain relationships with introducers such as brokers, lenders, estate agents, law firms, IFAs, and developers.
• Expand the referral network through targeted outreach, in-person engagement, and industry events.
• Convert enquiries and referrals into live instructions through proactive follow-up and hands-on client interaction.
• Support the refinement of messaging, sales approaches, and conversion strategies.
• Work closely with operations and legal teams to ensure seamless client onboarding.
• Develop and deliver a sustainable new business strategy aligned with high-volume growth targets.
• Monitor introducer performance, lead sources, and conversion data to drive improvements.
• Champion a commercial mindset across the business and support colleagues in lead handling.
Requirements:
• Proven track record in business development, sales, or relationship management.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the confidence to engage senior contacts.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently.
• Experience in legal services, lending, brokering, property, or another high-volume B2B/B2C environment.
• Willingness to travel regularly for face-to-face relationship-building.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of the Scottish conveyancing or remortgaging market.
• Experience with broker networks, lending panels, or property-related fields.
• Background in law (e.g. solicitor, paralegal) seeking a more commercial role.
• Familiarity with CRMs, pipeline tracking, and data-driven reporting.
